If you had an interview would you ask how much they planned on paying you before you took the job, or is that rude?

Actually, bringing up salary requirements is a vital part of the process.
HOWEVER, you must realize what range is acceptable for your position and experience. You should know this going into the interview.
In the interview process, 90% of the time, the company will ask you for your "salary range". If they don’t bring it up, wait till the end when they ask you if you have any questions. Then ask what is the salary range for this position. There is no harm in asking this question especially if done at the right time and politely.

good luck!

Never bring up money. Before the interview is over they will bring it up if not. When and if they offer you the job they will let you know what type of salary they offer. If you bring it up the person that interviewing you may think you are more interested in the money and not the job.

Wait until the end of the interview. Then if they haven't said anything about salary, it's fair to say something like "could you tell me what the salary range is for the job?"

They should be able to answer that, although it won't tell you what YOU would be offered - they don't likely know that themselves yet.

You should ask although it's rude...,but you really really should ask them to know how much they will pay you for an interview.
