TV has it's place, and can be used to enrich, and entertain.
We just have to be very discerning in what movies, or programs we choose to watch, and expose our children too.
What I would consider bad for you is the vast assortment of shows that are absolutely void of any quality content.
Today's shows, cartoons, and to a large extend the commercials as well are void of any decent values or morals, they are full of sarcasm, and humor that degrades men at an alarming rate.
Many shows portrait traditional families in a negative light, and we just do not want to support these nor do we want our children to get a steady diet of this.

TV takes away from time that could be spent exercising, socializing, learning, volunteering, etc. So basically if you spend too much time on TV and not enough time out doing things you could become lonelier, fatter, and dumber.
Of course, TV is also good because it gives you something to talk about, and it updates you on what's going on, especially if you watch the news. I'd say that any more than 3 hours per day is too much.

It prevents you from experiencing the full spectrum of life, being stuck in front of that mind-sucking box. Some programs can be educational, most of what is on TV is for "entertainment" purposes only. Many people do not get enough exercise from watching too much TV or playing video games, which is also not good.
