My friend's girlfriend has been calling me nearly everyday to hang out at her place. She confides in me about her relationship with my friend and she talks about the problems they have. Then she says stuff like me and her get along really well and that we have the same mindset and that we could become best friends. (Best friends for godsakes?!!) Last night they got into a fight so today she spent the day with me just talking. I always try to get out of spending time with her but today she said she needed a lift. I didn't know about the fight. What's her deal. Am I betraying my friend by kinda being on her side?

Your intentions may be honorable, but your friend won't see it that way. Set her down and say "I am friends with your boyfriend. I respect him too much to betray his trust, and every time I talk to you about him I feel like I am betraying that trust. If you and he are having problems, talk to him. If you respect me, then please don't put me in this awkward position. It doesn't feel right". Then, do yourself a favor and stay as far away as possible of that relationship and still remain friends with your bud.

It kind of seems like you do have some pretty strong feelings for this gal. Well, at least it sounds like you want to "do" her. If you really value your friendship with the guy she's supposed to be dating, then you need to be open and honest with her about your concerns of this escalating into something that ruins your friendship with him.

You say that "you try to get out of spending time with her," but be honest, your are really not trying hard enough.

STEP AWAY....BROS OVER HOES...you don't choose his chick because you feel his wrong...just give yourself space...away from their problems and tell her she needs to work on her problems alone. Figure it out and not use you to help her feel better. Come on!!!
