If my friend with a revoked (not suspended, but revoked) drivers license, drives my car that is titled, registered and insured in my name, and he gets caught, what are the ramifications against me?

He had many drunk driving charges and his license was revoked in 1995 - he has fulfilled all obligations: jail time, fines & fees, counseling, AA, etc., stayed sober, and reapplied for his license in 2005, and was denied.

ANYWAY... I just wanted to know what could happen to ME if he is caught driving my car - even if I didn't know he was driving it.

Also, what would most likely happen to him for driving on a revoked license?

When he gets stopped, your car will get towed. You will have to pay to get it out of impound. Figure $200 if you get it with in 24 hours. Add $50 - 100 per day after. If you don't pay for it soon enough they auction off your car.

If he is involved in an accident, your insurance will not cover the damage caused to either vehicle and will probably drop your insurance. The driver of the other vehicle could sue you for the damage.

Just don't lend your car to people with revoked licenses.

Well, if you didn't know he was driving it, that would mean it was stolen, right? In that circumstance, you probably wouldn't be held responsible, but he'd get popped for stealing your car. If he drives and you know it, you yourself are in violation of the law.
Why would you allow someone with his driving record to drive your car?

If you pressed charges, for his stealing your car, I'd guess there would be no ramifications.
