Since you are opposed to war and the military, are you for or against freedom?

since you benefit from freedom without supporting the means by which freedom is preserved, are you not just a bunch of moochers?

here you bask in the freedom of america, while at the same time condemning and pointing your finger at the military for keeping our country safe.

i think your church should be ashamed of itself, for its high and mighty attitude. if everybody in this world followed your philosophy, the whole world of passivists would fall to corrupt dictatorships, just because they refuse to fight back. and good luck trying to practice your religion in such an environment.

there is a difference between being neutral and calling individuals of the military "sinners." yes, i have seen witnesses here tell military personel that it is a sin to be in the military

Sounds to me like you just wanted to vent; Feeling better now? I am a Christian Witness of Jehovah, but no one in my family is. In fact my son is in the Military right now in Germany awaiting deployment. BTW he is in water purification, any guesses where he will be going.
We remain neutral, we do not point fingers or condemn the military. There are many neutral countries in the world. They do not get involved in world politics. Do you condemn them also?

We are also in countries that despise freedom, where we are in prison and the only thing we have to do to get out is salute the flag, join a political party, or military, take your pick. To do so means violating the principles we live by.

While still free here and other countries, we obey all laws and pay taxes unless they conflict with God's Laws. Can the same be true of your friends?

Our allegiance is to God's Kingdom, not any earthly government.

I wanted to remind you, gently, that first century Christians did not involve themselves in war either. And they were quite successful in practicing their religion in the environment of the hated Roman world empire.

Jehovah's Witnesses cherish freedom and believe that every human should have it. I would not say, however, that we are a bunch of moochers as you put it. Moreover, though we love freedom, we are not prepared to violate the teachings of Christ Jesus to get it. As one poster above mentioned, an American Witness would not kill an Iraqi Witness. Further, an American Witness would not kill a Parisian Catholic or anyone else for that matter.

If, as you say, EVERYBODY (your word) in the world followed our philosophy of refusing to kill in carnal warfare, there would be no carnal warfare. There would be no deaths due to war. Have you lost any loved ones in past wars? World War II? Korean War? Vietnam? Desert Storm? They were not killed by Jehovah's Witnesses.

Freedom is not gained or won by the carrying out of carnal warfare. American Indians fought side by side with American soldiers and when it was all said and done, they were just as lacking in freedom as they had ever been. Real freedom comes from the creator.

It matters little if JWs live in a democratic country or a dictatorship country. JWs pledge their allegiance to God's government.

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight"

The law in God's government says not to kill .
It does not contain any allowance to kill for offensive or defensive measures.

Luk 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill

The bible warns against the "neutrality" stance...
Revelation 3:
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Now comes the part about the wealth the WTB&TS has accumulated:

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

NOTE verse 20 - this direct to door knocking -- and again are you going to ignore this?

True freedom comes from God, not by any man-made government. Satan is the ruler of the world and its governements and God will soon destroy all manmade governments (Daniel 2:44; Psalm 2:2, 9). Christians are supposed to be peaceful persons (Isaiah 2:4).

Amen Bro!

Even the Bible says that there is a time for war and a time for peace. We are to respect governments places over us as they are appointed by God. I don't remember any scripture say "thou shalt not defend your country."

Hannah J Paul has not read the New Testement....God directs his people in War after War....When I finally recovered enough from the Spiritual bondage of the Watchtower Bible and Tract society. I decided to read the bible cover to cover....something few Witnesses ever have done....

Jehovah's Witnesses don't vote either, and refuse to kill people according to your stupid Bible! An American Jehovah's Witness would sooner die himself than kill a Iraqi Jehovah's Witness. Can YOUR stupid religion claim that?

Jehovah's Witnesses are "for" freedom from enslavement to imperfection, sickness, and death. Only God and Christ can assure such freedom, and they do.
http://watchtower.org/e/dg/index.htm?article=article_05.htm

(Romans 8:21-22) Creation itself also will be set free from enslavement to corruption and have the glorious freedom of the children of God. For we know that all creation keeps on groaning together and being in pain together until now.

Of course, Christianity is unique in that it has no provision for its adherents to engage in warfare. Those ostensible "Christians" who do so ignore the Scriptures and the teachings and example of Jesus Christ himself.

(Matthew 26:52) Jesus said to him: “Return your sword to its place, for all those who take the sword will perish by the sword

(Isaiah 2:4) They will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore.

(2 Corinthians 10:3-4) We do not wage warfare according to what we are in the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly

(Luke 6:27-29) I [Jesus] say to you who are listening, Continue to love your enemies, to do good to those hating you, to bless those cursing you, to pray for those who are insulting you. To him that strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also
