whats cornmeal???

The recipea says use 1/2 cup of cornmeal. What is that and where can i find it

Corn that is ground to the coarseness of a meal but not so fine as to be a flour. Commonly found in all supermarkets. Used to make corn muffins or bread. Batter for corn dogs. Occasionally used to batter fish, especially trout.
