some people say that dyeing your hair actually give it volume because the chemicals open up the hair shaft or something like that.. is this crazy or is it true? cuz ive heard the oppposite from other people.

Actually, in theory the dye molecules must have some volume to them. It's impossible that they don't. And they stick to your hair, so they add a tiny bit of volume. But, the amount of volume any dye adds to anything is so small that it's pretty much imperceptible. Or else it would be paint, not dye.

yes it does open the hair shaft but when you finish coloring your hair you close the shaft that's what allows the color to be deposited and how you keep your color in hair as far as making it thicker your answer is no it may have appearance of being thicker but its not .hope this helps

it can actually. because dye is damaging to hair, it can make it feel "thicker" when really the hair is just being damaged.

i have been a hair dresser for 15 years no it does not . what gives it volume is your conditioner use a good one

no. most definitely not. if anything, it makes it much weaker and drier because it strips your hair of it's natural nutrients. adios
