Okay. I have a few ideas.

1. Change your Yahoo Answers name. A gym teachers worst nightmare is not going to make you feel any better about yourself. You CAN lose this weight.

2. Carbs are not everything. Actually , carbs are very neccesary, so instead of french fries, go for a whole wheat dinner roll or a baked potato with light sour cream. They wont digest into sugar like french fries and put on weight.

3. Go for the low-fat version of foods. Like butter, sour cream, crackers, burgers (turkey burgers instead of beef), cheese, etc.

4. Excersize, but a little at a time. Work up to where you can run a half of a mile without feeling horrible afterwards(this could take up to about 3 months, but dont be discouraged), then stay steady at a half a mile for about two-three weeks, and shoot for a mile, stay there for a while, and so on.

Reward yourself. For every 4 pounds you lose, treat yourself to a day at the spa, or a pedicure. If you have something to look forward to, you're less likely to give up. And you won't.

I wish you good luck and I know you can do this.

I personally recommend a controlled-carbohydrate diet. Don't cut out ALL carbs--you can get plenty from fresh vegetables and fruit--but keep away from things like white bread, and ESPECIALLY sugar. (I know, it's tough, because we're surrounded by it, but your body will thank you.)

Also, whatever way of eating you do decide to follow, the bottom line is always that in order to lose weight, calories burned should be greater than calories ingested. Journal your food intake; fitday.com is an excellent tool for this. Figure out what your average is now for calories eaten, and decrease it--but don't go lower than 1200 per day or you risk slowing your metabolism. And definitely find an exercise or two that you really enjoy--even if it's just dancing alone in your room right now--and stick with it! So many of our health problems are caused by simple inactivity, you'll be amazed how much better you feel after a week or two. And once you feel more comfortable with moving around more, and perhaps a little less self-conscious, you might want to join a gym or a rec center and take advantage of the facilities.

I can't say enough about personal trainers; if you can possibly get one, being shown how to properly work out is invaluable. I know it seems a little counter-intuitive, but lifting weights is wonderful for helping you lose, because muscle actually burns more calories than fat, even when you're just sitting still. It will really boost your metabolism.

Whew, I rambled! But I hope this helped a bit. And if you'd just like a wonderful place to come and talk to others who are going through the same things, I invite you to http://www.3fatchicks.com

I really think that site's changed my life. (I don't know if you're male or female, but we've got both there, so come on over!)

Believe it or not sweetie, you WILL lose those pounds in a SNAP.* (:

You need to start believing in yourself and stop looking at any stupid fashion magazine that tells you what you should be. To tell you the truth I'm so proud of you to try and lose the weight naturally and not get a surgeon do it for you.

Make a list of stuff you wanted to do with a good body, be it volleyball, a totally cute outfit or walking out your house and getting 20 whistles a block. Use that for motivation. Next, get a big empty box and dump in all the junk food that you can find and seal it to charity or something. Switch everything to non-fat, reduced-sugar and high-fibre. Drink lots of cold water each day with the old "6-meals-per-day and fruit-and-veggie". It's working really well for me, so it should for you too!

Go to the gym and work-out. It may feel awkward at first cuz it seems like everyone there has a totally awesome body, but don't EVER let that stop you! Because you WILL have a figure 10 times better than them in the matter of weeks. ;-)

Basically that's all and trust me, it'll WORK. Don't punge or stop eating because that's even worse than surgery and it's SICK. Tons of good luck to ya! (: (: (:

You may want to focus on your health more so than your weight. You need to know that sugar, junk food, and fast food are not your friends when it come to being fit (You know being fit means you will be at your ideal weight). You may want to consider eating more natural fruits in vegetables in your daily diet and remove or reduce wheat, dairy, and sugar. Eat fresh food not processed food (food in boxes, restaurants, etc.) is always better. Drink water, green or ginger tea 30 minutes before or after each meal. These things will get you on your way to being healthier which will translate into a smaller and more vibrant you. Look at http://stayinformed.info/kitchen.html in the kitchen section on why you should stay away from wheat (gluten), MSG and other foods that causes obesity and hypertension.

When eating, take your time and chew your food 2 to 3 times longer than you’re accustom to. This will aid in digestion. Add fiber and organic choices to your diet. All the growth hormones, MSG, preservatives, gluten, and artificial flavoring may lead to weight gain.

Get exercise, water abrobice, walk or jog, go out dancing, play sports, or just do what you enjoy a lot and incorporate exercise. This will help you to day tomorrow and for the rest of your life.

Here's what I suggest:

1) Do you already eat healthy?

- Eat five small meals a day, try to make them as healthy as you can. Since you're trying to lose weight, try to eat 500 less calories than you need per day.

2) Drink 8 glasses of water per day

- It helps get the toxins out of your body, it helps speed up metabolism, and it makes you feel less hungry.

3) Weight train-- if nothing else, use dumbbells

- Even if you only get two ten pounders, it'll help immensely. I promise. You can do biceps, chest, triceps, back, legs, and abdomen with dumbbells-- most versatile in my opinion.

4) Try jogging about 3 miles in a half hour

- You really should be going at about six miles per hour for maximum heartrate and benefits. Three miles would be a half hour at six miles per hour, which would be perfect for you.

5) Limit your crunches/pushups-- or rather, shift when you're doing them

-Instead of doing a set amount daily, try cutting back your pushups and situps to every other day, and instead do double the amount every other day. It'll show more gain. Your muscles need time to rebuild.

6) Give your body at least one, if not two, 'rest days' per week

-After each three days jogging/etc., make sure to give your body a break. It needs time to rebuild your muscles.

Good luck, hope this helped!

The only way to lose weight is to eat fewer calories than your body burns in a day. If you exercise your body burns more, so in most cases you will lose weight. The other thing to do is eat more often, 5 or even 6 times per day, but MUCH smaller portions. That way your metabolism will get revved up and your body will not 'rest'.

I understand exactly how you feel. I'm 5'31/2" and 170 lbs. I've never felt good about myself, well that is until I started going to the gym. I started going in June and here I am, the same exact weight. It's so frustrating! I notice myself feeling more confident and my stomach doesn't stick out as much. My arms actually have muscle now too! Yet i'm still the same weight. The thing you have to understand is that muscle actually weighs more than fat. So while you think nothing is happening with your body, you could actually just be gaining muscle! I understand your frustration, though. I don't like being the way I am either, I'm just going to keep at it and hope something good happens, as should you! Remember, it won't happen overnight! Good luck!

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of impurities. Impurities come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The impurities get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the impurities by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://diet4cleansing.tripod.com

healthy eating. exercise. that is really the key to success! they go hand in hand, i would suggest having a few personal training sessions at a gym to get a feel for what will make you lose that extra weight, as well as either joining a plan to help control what you eat, or really constrict yourself to a lower calorie/fat intake! it will be hard, but just think of how great it will feel to be that 100 pounds lighter!

power to you! and good luck!
I personally dont have stories, but i do know peopel who have been through similar situations. a lady friend i know just really started kicking it in high gear at the gym, for a while it was really tough for her , and not super noticable but after a month or two results really appeared! and it was so great to see her look and feel so great!

as long as you put yourself to it, you CAN accomplish it!

good luck!
