I know why this is in the dog category - because every American in this category, and the cat category, keeps bleating on about using Dawn to kill fleas!
To everyone who reads this: it's pointless to treat fleas with Dawn dish soap. It's pointless to wash fleas off when new ones are just going to jump right back on - you'd be better off spending the time you would be bathing on taking a trip to the vets for some Frontline, which actually prevents fleas as well as kills them.
Yes, Dawn dish soap is American. I believe you can get it in the UK too. The mere words 'Dawn Dish Soap' make me scratch and gnash my teeth, all thanks to Yahoo.

Dawn dish liquid is blue, originally, and it cuts grease really super great. Chances are that other countries have heard about it cause there is a big to do with them about helping birds or any kind of creature that ends up in an oil spill. Apparently they use the dawn to wash these birds/animals and it gets the oil out of their coats so that they can still survive. Otherwise they would die. It is not very expensive at all. It is one of the better dish detergents. They have come out with all different kinds, with bleach, extra formular or whatever. But still it is one of the best. The grease cutting formula is pretty good in it.

Dawn dish washing liquid/foam has been around for a very long time. It is made for doing your dishes.
It is great for removing grease/oil inside your home and out. You can even safely use it on animals to remove flees. It is harsh, use a small amount and rinse very well
I think it is one of the best on the market for dishes. It is made by Proctor and Gamble (a USA company). Here is a link to the manufactures web page http://www.dawn-dish.com/en_US/dawn/home.do or http://www.pg.com/product_card/prod_card_dish_care.jhtml
If you do not live in the USA , check the above website and see if it is sold in your country. You may have it under a different name.
It runs the same as other dish washing liquids $3.99 - 4.99 depending on the size.

Yes Dawn Dish Washing Detergent (soap) is sold in the United States.
This soap is also safe to use on your pets to bathe them. If you have a dog or cat that has fleas on it, bathe your dog or cat using dawn dish washing soap. This soap will kill the live fleas on your pet and is not harmfull. Just make sure you completely rinse your dog and get all of the soap off so it will not get a skin rash.
Dawn dishwashing soap is also used on wildlife such as birds. When there are oil spills, and any birds that are in the water, they are rescued and our wildlife center uses this soap to bathe them. This soap works well in getting the oil off of the birds.
I hope this helps :-)

Dawn is a brand of dish soap. It's not any more expensive than any of the others. It's available in the supermarkets here in the U.S.

Yes, it's american and it's the most popular dish soap in the U.S. It's not expensive, and it works really well, on dishes and animals. Some rescue centers use it to wash animals that live in the ocean and got contaiminated with oils and other harmful materials.

I see from your previous question that you were looking to get rid of fleas and Dawn was recommended -- it is also used on Ocean animals that have been rescued from Oil Spills. You see commercials where the workers are bathing them in a sink and the dishwashing liquid -- it cuts grease, etc really well. I have attached my google search, because I have no idea what companies you have access to. You can purchase via the Internet or any 'good' grocery store chain should carry it. It is a US product, but it is used overseas to deal with any Oil Spills.

It's very cheap and is simply a dish soap for doing dishes by hand. It was used when there were oil spills, to clean animals coated in oil.
