How do you know if a filling has come out?

Are there any signs? tastewise?

I was chewing on a small mint and all of a sudden i tasted something bad, so i dunno

THIS IS MOST LIKELY A TONSIL STONE.
FILLINGS ARE NOT THINGS THAT TASTE BAD.

You should be able to feel the hole with your tongue. It will have rough edges, so it will be noticeable.

I've never TASTED anything when I lost them, felt grittiness, maybe. Perhaps there was something yucky in the mint.

I would go to your dentist for them to look at it - what you don't want is to wait a long time until something hurts...then you may have a bigger cavity where the filling came out...

tooth in your mouth, and/or a "sharp spot" or "hole"
when you run your tongue over your teeth.
