I don't know too much about the subject but my family and organization (Fix Our World Society) are going green because we know its a problem. If you want to insult al gore go ahead I don't care because it isn't his idea. To bring up al gore is to say you don't have any good scientific reason for doubt. If you want to bring in the bible and say god will never flood the whole earth again power to you! Unfortunately it wouldn't flood the whole earth. The only thing a person who brings up scripture knows about global warming is what they saw in The Day After Tommorow. Please don't be a part of the issue and learn something about global warming

I did say I didn't know much but I said it only to make it clear I'm no expert. as for the other sides argument. What argument! I have not seen a single fact disproving global warming

I feel very right in arguing that I have not given al gore a single penny he is not the issue. Global warming and Al Gore are two different things. I would prefer if Al Gore wasn't using it to get cash which I know he is. What I know about global warming are the facts I have seen true in my comunity and the world

Grrrrr. I have a job mr rude poster down there I fix things. I organize boycotts and get the truth out there so my friends and I can as our organization states fix our world and if you want to try to get me all riled up about this and try to change my beliefs by being a jerk then go be angry at the world for trying to make everything work out right. Plus if you are refusing to do things that will save you money because they help the enviroment (not nessacerily directed to you) then stop being so backwards

It might be a bit harsh to call them completley ignorant. Misinformed may be a better way of putting it and considering the amount of inaccurate media reporting and campaigns waged by large industries and certain governments a few years ago it's easy to understand why some people are misinformed.
In short, they've got their 'evidence' from unreliable sources, albeit that the sources may have seemed credible at the time. Unfirtunately once misinformation is fed to the public it spreads very easily through the media and in particular the internet.
Reading through some of your other answers it's apparent that some of the skeptics clearly believe what they're saying is correct and I dare say many are intelligent people. In such instances it's more an error of judgement than complete ignorance.
There are of course some people who are completely ignorant and no matter what anyone says, no matter what anyone does and no matter if you demonstrate in front of their own two eyes that they're wrong, they still won't change their mind because it doesn't suit them to.
Perhaps when reading about global warming people should require a higher burden of proof. In doing so there would be far fewer skeptics because quite simply, there is no proof behind the claims they often make.

Please Read the entire thing to fully understand...
Sorry to say this. But the true science says that it is the Sun that is causing most of the global warming that we have been hearing about.
Carbon Dioxide(CO2) is only accountable for less than 5% of greenhouse gases and we only make about 5% of that. (About 95% of Greenhouse Gases is Water Vapor)
The reason for increased CO2 is because as the oceans become heated, they cannot hold as much as they could if it were cooler, so the oceans release it as a gas.
The Northern Polar Cap has been shrinking. No doubt about it but increased heat from the atmosphere and greenhouse gases isn't the cause. Like people say, you can only see the tip of the ice berg. Only the top 10% is exposed to the atmosphere and the heat from it which takes out the possibility of greenhouse gases since they have very little to no influence over the oceans, so something else much more powerful must be the cause of warmer waters.
The Sun has many times more influence over the oceans than anything else on Earth. Studies and research show that the Sun is getting a bit more brighter than we are used to and that is the reason for recent warming. Al Gore had a chart in his movie "An Unconvenient Truth" that showed the similarities of Carbon Dioxide and temperature. The thing that he doesn't tell you is that there is a gap in which the temperature rises before the CO2 which should be the exact opposite if his theory is correct. That is my point of view on the issue and I strongly encourage you to watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle" (http://video.google.com/url?docid=-3028847519933351566&esrc=sr2&ev=v&q=The%2Bgreat%2Bglobal%2Bwarming%2Bswindle&srcurl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo.google.com%2Fvideoplay%3Fdocid%3D-3028847519933351566&vidurl=%2Fvideoplay%3Fdocid%3D-3028847519933351566%26q%3DThe%2Bgreat%2Bglobal%2Bwarming%2Bswindle%26total%3D196%26start%3D0%26num%3D100%26so%3D0%26type%3Dsearch%26plindex%3D1&usg=AL29H21-bOO7tscZViIyxClZ_4YJrQ7ZjQ) all the way through even if you don't want to. It is a great source of information and if you want to know the truth, you need to see both sides of the story.

I completely agree with Trevor’s answer, above, but only inasmuch as it applies to *both* sides of the argument.
Vast numbers of people believe that we are heading for a global catastrophe due to global warming (Trevor included), not because they are stupid, but because they have been mislead, or, in some cases, are choosing to believe all the wildest, most scare-mongering of predictions.
Climate change is a strange area of science where people are allowed to effectively lie through their teeth and almost nobody says a word. Whether it’s the Mann et all “hockey-stick” graph, or Kevin Trenberth (lead author of the IPCC) claiming “Experts to warn global warming likely to continue spurring more outbreaks of intense hurricane activity” despite no evidence to support this claim, or even Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, if you’re a supporter of catastrophic global warming you can say what you like, however outrageously inaccurate and/or improbable, and no one says a word.
Conversely, if you speak out against catastrophic global warming you get pounced on; you get called a “denier” with all the Holocaust connotations that that word entails, or you get likened to Islamic terrorists and told you shouldn’t have access to the media (our own Margaret Beckett said that here in the UK), or, of course, you get called ignorant.
The fact is that there is no more reason to believe that we are in any danger from global warming than there is to believe that global warming will have little or no effect on humanity, or even be beneficial. No one, and I mean no one, can give an exact, definite answer to the question “What will the climate be like in 2100 and how will it effect us?” Your opinion is formed based on who you listen to. If you like all the doom and gloom stories, then you’ll believe there’s going to be a catastrophe. If you prefer to listen to the more conservative (and I would argue, more likely) predictions, then you’ll believe that we’re unlikely to have a problem.
Neither option is “certain” and anyone who says otherwise is simply lying.
You can believe what you choose to believe, but don’t suggest that anyone who disagrees with you is ignorant; that’s just arrogant.
As ever with global warming - don't believe the hype.

You say people who say global warming is fake are ignorant yet you admit you don't know too much about the subject. Not knowing much is the definition of ignorance. Did you know that the earth was warmer 2000 years ago than it is now?
Did you know that Greenland is called Greenland because when it was discovered it was not ice covered like it is now and green plants grew there. You would do well to stop insulting people who don't fall for such scams as the global warming alarmism and go study reality.

The only ones saying that its fake are mostly rich people with a lot to lose if people change there way of life . Its mostly the rich that are using most of the energy to make more money and travel where ever they want not to mention there giant beautiful 6 bedroom home that's completely air conditioned with only 2 people living in and don't forget the pool with the filter running 24/7 that they swim in once a month and the SUV with the hummer in the garage .
Fact is they use more energy in one day then i use in a month and there not about to give that up . Best thing to do to save our planet is to go after the rich . Take there riches and teach them how to conserve and stop asking the little guy to give up what he does not have.

Indeed there is no plausible scientific explanation for the current global warming except that humans are the primary cause:

You can make all the ridiculous arguments you want about Al Gore or liberal hoaxes, but until you can make a scientific argument that something else is causing the acceleration in global warming, you're just in denial about the issue.

Did you realize any of the top scientists who say it is a lie. Get fired and shunned out of the scientific community. Stop being a brainwashed follower. It is people like you signing my petition to ban water.
Dana do you think the Earth spins from left to right only. It also rotates diagonally too. And, then we orbit the sun. And, are farther away from the sun and closer to the sun. Or, did you skip science class in high school? THE SUN causes Global Warming.

You are either a lier, or totally ignorant. As for saying others should study reality, you made yourself look like a fool since everything you said were untrue.
"Did you know that the earth was warmer 2000 years ago than it is now?"
No, it wasn't.
"Did you know that Greenland is called Greenland because when it was discovered it was not ice covered like it is now and green plants grew there."
Another untrue story. It was a propaganda statement by a viking that obviously, to this day, continue to fool people. :)

hmm... if you don't know too much about the subject, then shut the hell up!
Al Gore is a retard and is just trying to cash in on naive people like you. Pretty soon they'll send us to concentration camps if we say we don't believe that humans had much to do with global warming.
And dang it, it's August and barely 65 degrees outside, I can use some global warming so shut up and let it happen.

I am old enough to remember you "Chicken Littles" running around with your arms flailing wildly in the late Sixties-early Seventies screaming "The sky is falling......no, wait, it was "Global Cooling,Global Cooling! We're all going to freeze!!!" All of you Leftist movements, from the Animal Rights wackos, to The Food Control Nannies, The Slow (read that "NO!) Growth movement, to you Tree-hugging flamers, are nothing more that a bunch of Socialists who want control over every aspect of our lives! Michael Crichton's already put the fork in you with "State of Fear"! Go read it and have a good cry, watch "The Day After Tomorrow" 8 or 9 times, and then get a job!!
