The architecture used for Xbox is the same as a pc, and developers, games studios are very familiar with it. The PS3 is a new, unique system that developers are still learning to work with. I presume the basics of the game are finished for the Xbox, pc and then has to be reconfigured for the PS3. Then of course there's debugging an quality control etc. Eventually when developers become familiar with the PS3 things won't take as long.

Like the others have said...A 360 has similar design to a PC to they dont have to change the game much from a PC original and vice versa. PS3's on the other hand are totaly different so the game has to be redesigned slightly. Also the PS3 is capable of holding more texture data on its Blu-Ray disk so they can increase the quality of the textures and graphics on it to fill up the extra space on the disk is they wich to do so which takes them a little bit longer. So if it helps, the extra wait is worth the graphics improvement over that of other platforms (well maybe not a computer release as that is entirely dependent on what hardware the computer has)

That actually happens with just about every platform... PC, 360, Wii, PS2.... not just with the PS3.

The thing with that is that companies PROJECT a release date, but once they get closer to that projected date the game may not actually be finalized yet, so they delay the release date. Like I said.... it's actually quite common with every platform.

I feel your pain though.... I used to get mad myself, but it didn't make the game come out any sooner, so now if they announce a release date, I just add another month or two.

The 360 has an architecture similar to a PCs, whereas the PS3s is unique to it and developers have had a struggle getting the hang of it.
It'll get better with time, and result in better games for the PS3 as they uncover its intricacies.
