I have it in both of my thumbs, and somedays, its just so painful.
I have an urge to bandage it up really tight so it squeezes on them. But it doesnt really help.

See if you can get a prescription for this creme that is mixed by a pharmacist
ORIGINAL PRESCRIPTION;
KETOPROFEN(10)%, LIDOCAINE(5)%, BACLOFEN (6)%

APPLY TO AFFECTED AREA AS DIRECTED 2-3 TIMES A DAY

This has got to be the best creme that was ever given to me for pain I use it all the time. I especially stock up on it when I am about due for an epidural, or when I had surgery, for a stimulator- I covered the scar with it and it made it less painful.

IT IS ONLY A SUGGESTION- dr may approve that -OK
WORTH A TRY- THE LIDOCAINE IS WONDERFUL-- AND YOU CAN PUT THE CREME ANYWHERE!

i THINK THAT YOU WILL FIND IT HELPS ALOT

Another way to sooth and important

get the sink water as hot as you can stand it and do some exercises in the water- (pool therapy for the hands-lol) YOU MUST DO THEM TO KEEP THE MOVEMENT GOING.. you can also ask for some Therapy gloves they add a little tension around the fingers and that can help Be sure and keep those hands MOVING!

try a supplement called Glucosamine & Condroitin 500mg/400mg (it's one bottle) - I thought I was getting carpal tunnel syndrome in my hands 7 yrs ago - after 2 months of taking this - one pill per day, not 3 like it says (1500mg/1200), the pain was gone - keep taking daily and pain is still gone after 7 yrs - I think it might be osteo arthritis in my case - G/C helps the joints

I would try:

Self Hand Massage
Naproxyn (Or you favorite over the counter pain killer)
Wrap in Heat Pad

I would imagine wrapping them tightly just cuts off the circulation and isn't good for the condition.

Wrapping will not ease the pain. Try applying heat and if you are able,take aspirin.
