Ok heres how it goes here in TEXAS...if your driving a vehicle even if its not yours.your responsible for that car...insurance and stickers..all need to be checked by you befor you get in and drive...but if you get a ticket for expired sticker just take the owner with you to court and show proof that he got the car inspected and they will cancel the ticket and just charge you a court cost........now you have to find out if court cost is more than the ticket...call court or look on back of ticket...if its more than the ticket ...just pay the ticket...which ever is cheaper.......TEXAN for 35 years

Yes. You have control of the vehicle when you are driving it. Just like if they had found drugs inside, you would get arrested for possession. Even if they were not yours.
