I recently was very sick and my doctor recommended Mucinex D to help with the symptoms. While I was taking it, I also seemed to help with the stuffiness and cogestion related to my allergies and I felt very clear. I was just wondering if it would be safe to take this daily?

The problem with using a decongestant on a daily basis is that your body develops a tolerance for it. Seriously, look up "nasal decongestant tolerance".

It sounds crazy and I was skeptical when I first tried it, but neti pots work amazingly well for nasal allergies. Saw it on Oprah and thought I'd give it a try. It takes some getting used to, but hey, it's cheaper then taking mucinex d everyday.

I don't know why not. It's basically just robitussin with a little decongestant thrown in. Look on the label. Does it say anything about not taking the medicine for more than 4 days at a time? This is not an addictive drug. It's just a mucus thinner.

I wouldn't take it daily because it has a high content of magnesium in it. Weekly might be ok.
