Best ask your GP Doctor.
I can't make any reccomendations but typically any pain in the head is multiplied greatly due to the change in pressure in the cabin at altitude.

hi there I work for BA and I would get your ears checked out before travel. When you are 30,000ft in the sky if you have chronic ear ache you will end up with a perferated ear drum and inside an aircraft that is pressureised you will be in severe pain and discomfort if your ear drum goes. If your ear drum is already perferated or badly infected the airline wont accept you for travel . Best get it checked out if your doctor gives you antibiotics and another check up before you go and they give the ok to fly you must get a letter from your doc to show the airline that your gp has given you the ok to fly. It must be on official medical paperwork from your surgery otherwise again the airline wont accept. Good luck and hope the ear gets better.

It very much depends on what's wrong with your ear.
If it is a certain type of infection in a certain place then there are two good reasons not to fly
First the pain will be terrible, really terrible
Second there is a chance, remote but a chance that you will cause long term damage.
Do not let anyone persuade you to fly until you see a doctor
Either your GP or call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 as a final resort visit your local A&E unit

i work as cabin crew for BMI airlines and know a lot about this. If you fly with any ear problem there is the chance of perforating or bursting your ear drum due to the cabin pressure. Speak to your GP 1st but personally i would wait until it clears up.

You MUST see a doctor before travelling.
If there is already a problem you owe it to yourself to have it fully diagnosed and treated before risking the different air pressures that act on your body, and they affect your ears more than any other part of your body.
Depending on the cause of the problem you have, it seems likely you would experience nausea, and it is possible that you could damage the ear, and your hearing.
Do not take that risk See a doctor before flying..

How do you define sore? If it's just itchy then no. If you have an infection then the pressure changes will will make your ears hurt.
Either way, if you are concerned, take everybody's suggestion and see your doctor.
