Hello, i'm getting married in 2 weeks. How should i file my taxes in January? I want to get the best possible tax return so we can recover from all this wedding spending. what do you think its best to do. I'm 23yrs old, i don't go to school, i work full time. Thanks!

You and spouse should file as married filing jointly. As far as best possible tax return goes, make sure you claim all the income, deductions, credits, and everything else that you can claim.

agree with the above--married filing jointly. but I would recommend that you DO NOT change your filing status on your W4 at your job. keep it single. Your income combined with your spouse's income could bump you to a higher tax bracket, so leave your W4 as single till you see how you make out on 2007's taxes. I have had single tax clients that got married, then right away changed their W4 to married, then ended up owing at the end of the year.

You will be able to file jointly as if you were married Jan 1, 2007. That is the best.
