I just asked a earlier question a few seconds ago about being a Judge and then it made this question pop in my head? Why do we call them this? Now, I know as a sign of respect, but why? Sir or miss is respectful too. Where did that specific type of addressing Judges come from or originate?

because if we dont we'll go to jail and have to hear the judge explain to us how he is better than us and how we headed down a terrible path.

The moment you are able to find out what is Your Own True Address, you will know the Address simultenuously. Hindu Scriptures logically explain that your own pure real Self is what is otherwise pointed to as the BRAHMA, the ultimate reality. Ignorants believe that there is a heaven and there the God is existing etc. Naturally I would want to know prior to heaven where he was residing?

Because being a Judge used to be a a title as well as a position, and the correct honorific for this was "Your Honor". (Just as you would call a duke "Sire", a knight "Sir" and a member of the royal family "Your Majesty")

A judge's proper title is "The Honorable Joe Smith". That is why he is referred to as "Your Honor". Just as a medical doctor is referred to as "Dr. Joe Smith".
Baliffs in the courtroom used to come in and say, "All rise, the Honorable Judge Joe Smith, presiding. You may be seated."

Maybe it's because they rule over the court room like a king or queen would.

Because "Your Heinous" and "Your long winded pompous assness" makes a bad impression on juries.
Also "Your politically appointed buttkisserness" is often viewed with consternation when you have to appeal a case.

because they r sometimes above the law, that's if they don't break it themselves.
