I have read numerous sites that ALWAYS talk about how easy it is to do, but I have never actually heard a person get an item removed that is a real life person -- So has anyone had this done before b/c I have about 4 items I would like removed that I need to either negotiate them to get removed or just settle with the paid in full which doesnt really help out at all.

I have had one item removed from my credit.

It was a 6-month lease that I had 6-canceled checks for.

The thing is if the information is correct, you can not have it removed. Even if you pay it. It will still show on your credit for 7-years. But a paid collection or charge off is a whole lot better then a unpaid one.

Most of those sites offering to clear up your credit report are rip offs.

If you have legitimate bad debt on you report, you should negotiate settlement and take the paid. A paid bad debt is better than an outstanding one.

i have had item removed from my credit report. the key thing is to get it in writing. If you can ge the credit to write a statement on their letter head after you have paid them, send a copy of that letter to the credit bureaus. sometimes its hard others its easy but it can be done. or after you have pain them dispute it with the credit bureau, sometime they don't even both responding to the inquire.
