Time was invented in 1895 by Sir Michael Time. It was originally used as a way of calculating wages, but its usage soon spread to other applications, such as clocks and train timetables. By the mid ninteen-thirties, time was everywhere. It was soon realised that some sort of control was needed, as rouge time agents were popping up everywhere; the entire planet was at risk. And so the Time Lords were created. This was a largely controversial decision, particularly to Daleks and Cybermen, who had long prophesiced what they called "The Oncoming Storm".
To this very day, the Doctor and his companions patrol time, making it a much safer place for all. Some say he has plans to destroy time. I hope so. Bloody stupid invention.

Time wasn't invented. People just noticed that they went from small to big to wrinkled, and that animals did the same thing, and that plants did something similar.
just about every human being on the planet has noticed that things change between one temporal point of reference and the next.

Miguel de Unamuno liked to say that there is no Man, only men. So which man invented time? And when did he do it? Was it before his coffee break, or after? How long did it take him to invent it? An hour? What was he doing before he invented it? Was he thinking about inventing it?
Perhaps no one person invented time; perhaps it was a committee effort. That might explain some its unpleasant aspects such as the celerity with which it passes, or the way it consigns the past to a kind of nonexistence. Were the committee members civil, or did they all talk simultaneously?
If the good folks at Seiko Watch Co. perfected time, then time was imperfect before they got to work on it. But as far as I can tell, the ontological deficiency of all temporal items remains with us.

evidence has been found of early civilizations keeping track of time in one way or another. The methods they used were different like sundials e.t.c but they were all for the purpose of keeping track of the passage of time

I like the big bang theory, however, what about before that.
This is what astronomers and cosmologists struggle with.
