why is it that, people who sell drugs, commit robbery and ect. can sopend life in prison, but child molesters only do a few years, if it was up to me they would be tourter and then executed the same way they harm a child, i mean, if you think about it, these assholes are damaging the most important investment of our futer.

Here's what I think we should do:
Put them in a cell that only fits one person. Then, put another guy in. This guy will be a black ex-porn star. And he will be gay. And he will have an unlimited supply of viagra.
Soundproof the room.
Leave the molestor in that cell for 20 years. Rinse and repeat if desired.

Well, to start with, a lot of people question capital punishment of any kind. But if you are going to have it, it would be nice if it were used in some kind of rank order - if the penalty for molesting a child is the same as killing a child, then there is no point in keeping the child alive. And, for better or worse, not all the people convicted under the sex crime laws - most extremely those who are so labeled because they were just over the age of consent and their "victims" were girl friends just under that age. And not all more extreme cases involve violence or pain. We don't want it to happen, but putting all offenders down the same way is just panic and witch hunting.

why should a child's life be more valuable than any others? because they are the future? I am the now. What if someone tortured or raped me? Because I am an adult male my life holds less value than any others? Maybe that's part of the problem.
As for pedophiles. It depends on the crime how much time will be given to the criminal.
I was molested. And the concept of torturing and killing that man is outright pointless, it does nothing but lower myself to his level. I am not a predator, and I think it is retarded to act like them.
The concept of eye for an eye is dumb in itself. Aside from the fact that it lowers a person to the same level as the original aggressor, it serves no positive influence for society.

life inprinment is worse because you die eventually and you get constant visits by Bubba child and all molesters really especially of those of women and children molesters are ussually get it really bad there they get it bad from the gaurds and the prisoners(worse than usaul alot worse) they deserve to get that the rest of there life so isay give them atleast 5 life sentences. they deserve it. when most of them get out perison doesnt stop them they just go right back to harming children and they ussually kill the old victims as revenge.
but if i or some who i was close to molested i would not be able to sleep at night knowing the or she was out there probably going to do it again if i had the decision to put them in the big house i wouldnt lose an ounce of sleep over it

it is sick to think of, and they are thinking of making it a death penalty offense on the THIRD offense in some states, because there is a lot of odd situations, EYE for an EYE isnt always the best way to get justice. Now i think they are sick and it should be decided by a jury. For instance, what if your 17 year old son had sex with a 16 year old girl in the state of texas she is a minor, should he be killed? Now on the other hand the illegal alien that came here and raped and killed a 4 year old girl brutally should be sent to the chair, or it worse to make them suffer, with jail?

That's very true! But you have to consider that most of the pedophiles that are caught and convicted nowadays, are caught because of an indirect connection to a pedophilial crime (say, having child pornography on their computers), while there are the ones that are caught and convicted and given lengthy sentences, and those are the ones with an actual hand in the crime, the despicable beings for whom there is no other solution but to confine them to an environment in which they can have no contact whatsoever with a child.

People trying to give them a chance hoping that they will change, even though in prison they say once they get out they are just going to do it again. If it were up to me they would get life and get beat up by the rest of the prisoners.

Why can't we just have prisons where convicted murderers and pedophiles never get to leave their cells for the rest of their life? No TV, radio, Internet, cafeterias, gym time, hospital visits, etc. Just water and insects for sustenance.
Then you don't need a death penalty.

I don't trust capital punishment but some people should not be alive. Adults who hurt and molest children should not be.
But the fact is that the best reason to kill them is that we will KNOW they will never hurt a child again.

I couldnt agree with you more! I am terrified for my daughter because of these sickos who are given a second chance. Lawmakers dont seem to realize that these bastards cannot be rehabilitated. They end up doing it again and sometimes it ends in the death of an innocent child! It makes me sick! Our justice system SUCKS!
