my car has something on the steering wheel that lets me change radio stations directly on it so i don't have to reach over to the radio while i'm driving... i can also change from FM1 to FM2 to AM to CD Player on the steering wheel... if i get a digital radio, will i still be able to do that stuff on my wheel, or will i have to reach over while driving?

ALSO: if you want the best answer, DON'T ASK FOR IT, and PROVIDE A SOURCE... it'll up your chances tremendously

If you're replacing the factory radio, you can keep the steering wheel controls if you purchase a steering wheel control interface adapter. These are made by various manufacturers and are available through most car audio stores, or online suppliers like Crutchfield. Prices will range from $70-$100.

Using one of these adapters requires that the new radio is equipped with either:
---a jack in the rear for a wired remote control (prefered), or
---its own wireless remote control (not as good, but will work)

Call around to your local audio store. Google car audio and your zip code and you can get a lot of results for audio stores in your aera, click on map too after you search, that helps out alot too. you have to buy a module to convert the controls so u can use it. and a deck that you buy has to be compatiable too. most modern decks are. i have a 94 grand prix and wanted a new deck and i had to go through the same thing. the module i found ranged in price from 60-80$.

Most often this sort of feature is provided by the manufacturer. Using an aftermarket system usually doesn't allow for connecting in to someone elses equipment.

Chances are you'll have to reach across.
