You could put band aids on each one of his fingers, or dip his fingers in vinegar or any liquid he doesn't like. I bite my nails too - it's very hard to stop but I just forced myself to stop. Try this... it worked for me: Everytime he wants to bite a nail, give him something to chew. I used gum, but I don't know if you let him chew gum. You could use taffy or caramel, but only a little so he doesn't get all cavaties! It worked for me.
Good Luck! I hope I could help!

Chances are it is his way of dealing with stress.
My daughter to this day (34 yrs) will chew her nails when stressed out, but most of the time, she will remember the bandaids that I use to put around her fingers as a toddler. Good Luck!

I don't have a good answer. I have a 2 1/2 year old who is the same way. NO one does it at home, daycare, family, etc so I'm not sure where he learned it from.

you be responsive to what you ought to do? supply up discovering, bypass out and are available across a chemist (or drug keep...I dunno what they could call it on your u . s . a .), and are available across a nail polish there fairly for nail biting. once you place it on, this is sparkling and un-noticable. yet once you bypass to bite your nails...BAM! The style is poor. It tastes like abode paint blended with banana. VERY DISGUSTING. you may basically style it nevertheless, no longer scent it, so do no longer problem on the subject of the fragrance making you ill. That facilitates plenty with nail biting. Use it till you supply up completly, believe me, it works. this is non poisonous, with the help of ways.

I have heard of a very effective method of getting a child to stop nail biting. Go to your pediatrician and have them do a nail removal. Have the Dr. remove a single nail to teach the toddler that nails are to be respected and cherished. If he still bites, have the second one removed. He'll get the idea!
