Last night I saw my younger brother such 1st time and he said he fell into drain.
I believed he was beaten up as he did owe syndicate money since 2003 and his glass was broken into half. Amazingly he never grumble or complain in pain ! This brother of mine rarely grumble since he was young no matter how much I agitate him.
If in 2000, I would have wanted to deal with those hooligans with an eye for an eye and yield them 10 times for what they did to him.
Instead I chose to control myself and show him concern and ask God to protect him and I pray for those who beat him. (He was pretty tall for an Asian). Yes I did that sincerely as I know God loves those children of his and of all one thing dawn on me at the Mass, that is since Christ is badly bruised and crucified on the cross, he taught us by asking his heavenly Father to forgive those who crucified him. Thus I too, should plead for those who hurt my brother and for myself to learn to love instead.

A little aside Jason. I was in Singapore a few years ago and actually did manage to fall into a drain. For such a modern city, I was surprised at how crude the drainage system was. Mind you, I only injured my leg.
I respect your point of view concerning the people who beat up your brother but I don't necessarily agree.

Instead of wasting your time praying to an imaginary god, I would have tried to help your brother. Controlling your temper is good in such a situation, but I would have shown I cared for your brother by actually caring for him.
I would have talked with him instead of fictional superbeings.
