he feels as if im upset and he doesnt know why. he said that he dont want to lose me as a friend

It means he's scared of commitment, you're freaking him out, and he doesn't want to see you anymore.

This depends on one thing are you sexually active with him? Are the two of you having casual sex?
If the answer is yes this means for him this is a casual relationship and it will not become serious for him. He apologized afterward because he don't want to cut out the benefits. (sex)
If the answer is no and I'm sure it probably is, this means he may not like you as much or he may trying to figure out his feelings for you.

Give him some space and stop trying to transition the relationship so fast. Slow down and take your time. When it's time to take the relationship to the next level you will know it and he will be willing to move forward. Right now he is not ready so give him some time and a little bit of space.

two words: BACK OFF. let him make the next move. it sounds like he's very confused about what he wants out of a relationship at this point. So give him some space so he'll have no grounds to make those kinds of comments again, and let him take the lead in the relationship for awhile.

He wants you to slow down a bit and not rush into things. And he apologized because he probably felt bad about saying it and hurting you.

You should give him plenty of space! He is obviously feeling a little smothered but at the same time doesnt want to hurt you. Kicjk back and relax.....spend time with your friends....etc.

He was letting you know that he is not interested in you in that way, you are ok for a minute but not for a relationship. He probally already has someone who he is serious about, and pls dont say I know he does'nt, He still does not want you. read between the lines plzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
