When i got my dog he had no shots that I knew of and lived with me for nearly a week before they could take him at the vet. While he was there I had him dewormed because I didn't KNOW for sure he didn't have worm- and he had run over to 2 dead animals that week before I saw what they were. They seemed to have no problem giving him the pill without knowing he had worms. I don't think it'd be a good idea to do this weekly by any means- but ask your vet.

Yes it is, and its been my experience that worm pills are the worst thing to use anyway. I always use liquid wormer on my dogs and cats. Its much safer and alot gentler on your pet. No where near the dander or side effects of worm pills. But before YOU medicate your dog, take him to your vet to make sure it has worms.

Animals and medication have to have the same rule of thumb as People and Medication....when in doubt, leave it out. If a medication has not been recommended by your vet for that particular pet, do not give it to the animal.
Please take your dog to the vet in order for you to be positive what is going on with her health.
Good luck and have a good day.

Yup You should always get them tested first, then if they do have worms, you know how to treat the problem.. Is it a good idea to keep taking aspirins if you don't have a headache?

Yes. Your dog should not get medication that isn't necessary because he can get sick.
