Try some of the thrift stores in your area or check and see if there are any rental places, check with friends that have gotten married or see if your mom or grandam will let you use theirs......Or you could make one or have one made by a friend or family member....

Davids Bridal is a good resource. Ordering a bridesmaid dress in white instead of in a color is a good choice. You could borrow a gown from someone. Heck you can have mine if you want it. I was a big 6 or small 8 at the time I got married. It's off the shoulders with a dropped waist and lots of beads. You can try a consignment shop.

I'm in Lakewood, CA (near LA) and I went to a local mall and found a store called Anny Bridal and got a dress for $140 - Including alterations and tax it was less than $250! Look for a simpler dress without all the lace and beading and you can find some real bargins. Also, check out if you have any local seamstresses (we have alot here in LA) and they can usually make a dress for you for pretty cheap.

I took my daughter everywhere to find a dress for a formal military ball. We went into a nearby Goodwill store and I found at least 15 wedding gowns that were absolutely beautiful and most of all CLEAN. Try there, the prices were in the range of $25-$50.00. I know it may sound a bit ewww, but they were nice dresses with Designer labels and in excellent condition. Just have it dry cleaned. I wish we could have found her a dress for that $$.

There are many discount bridal stores across the country. From my experiences, I have found that Davids Bridal has the best prices for extreamly good dresses. They almost always have a $99.00 sale with many awsome dresses. Check it out for yourself!
Another option is going to Goodwill stores and Salvation Armys... You can always buy a dress and fix it up yourself!

Good Luck!

Really cheap as in what amount? check out ebay. There are people on there all the time selling wedding dresses. My sister-in-law bought her wedding dress on ebay and it was the most gorgeous dress I'd ever seen and she only paid $75 for it!

David's bridal has a lot of dresses for $400. Or check ebay or craigslist. Or find a really nice bridesmaid dress and order it in white or ivory.

Well, if you're interested, I have a beautiful pale pink formal dress that would be perfect. I haven't even worn it (bought it for a wedding that got cancelled). It's a size 10 and it's a tea lenght dress with a drape neck. Send me an e-mail if you're interested and I'll give you the rest of the details.
