hey girl

im a medical assistant and of course i have had this Tb test done many times. it doesnt hurt at all. it's like a small needle(that looks like the one thats used for finger pricking) and they inject it in your forearm. then they draw a circle with a pen around the injected site to see if it swells up(like a mosquito bite) it if does, u are TB positive. if it doesnt. then your skin would look normal as if u were never poked there, and it would be negative which is good.

a tb test checks if you have a certain skin desease called tubercolosis. If you were born in america, you probably don't have it. It's a really quick shot and doesn't hurt at all. I just got it today actually, i needed it to get a job. The needle barely goes under your skin, and is the best shot because it hurts ALOT less then a regular one. They inject a small bit of liquid that forms a bump on your skin. It gets smaller after about fifteen minutes. Then you have to go in to get it read in 48 hours. They just measure it and examine it. If its negative, then your good, you don't have the skin disease, but if its positive. . . that's not good.
When your getting it done, relax your arm, you'll feel a poke then a little bit of preasure. Tell the nurse that you're afraid of needles and they'll soothe you while your getting it. It's really quick, and its over in 3 seconds. Really Quick.
I was really nervous when i was getting it cuz I'm really afraid of needles, and i'm still kind of nervous when i have to get my second one. . . but it doesn't hurt at all. The brain just makes it seem worst than it is. If you expect pain, then your body will make it scarier than it really is.

A small injection called a PPD tuberculin is injected under your skin on your forearm. You will feel a slight needle prick. The needle injects the medication under your skin. Then this is to be checked in 2 to 3 days by a nurse or physician. If the site has a bump = positive. Go to www.revolutionhealth.com for more info.

it's a small subcutaneous (just below the skin) injection that leaves a tiny bubble. if the bubble goes away, you are good. if the bubble grows, you have TB and need treatment.

it hurts just like other injections. just a pinprick and you are done. it doesn't sting like some injections do. the ones that sting are injected into fat.

Only if you are positive do you need the lung x-ray.

You should only to the ACTUAL test once, anymore and the test will give you a false positive, unless you have been exposed. the practice tests that medical assistants use are just saline injected in the same manor. I had to do multiple injections and we always used saline for the TB tests.

It's a skin test to make sure you don't have tuberculosis (TB).

I don't care for it - it's not really a matter of "hurt" as much as the injection site is annoying.

Any doctor's office or the health department can provide it for you.

It doesn't hurt at all. They inject somthing into the dermal layer of the skin so it bubbles. Then they draw a circle around it. It the bubble grows, you may have TB, if it reduces to nothing you are okay. We get them all the time in the military.

TB is a Tuberculosis test, and it doesn't hurt at all. I had it done, and I can't really remember it, but it doesn't hurt, and it's done in like 5 minutes.
