A 2.5 male schnauzer, it's my exes, and he pees whenever he walks into anywhere - multiple times. He sniffs, lifts his leg, and goes. And my ex enver took him on walks, he had a door, I will be kenneling him, and walking him after work. He gets SUPER excited and crazy on a leash. Any advice?

That's not peeing, that's him marking his territory. To stop it, you're going to have to keep a very close eye on him. You won't be able to correct him if you don't catch him in the act - he won't understand. Take him out every 45 minutes to an hour and praise him with a reward when he does his business and marking out there.

On walks, don't resort to a pinch collar. They can injure the dog's neck if he pulls hard enough. My mom had one of these on her dog, and the dog developed a nasty infection from the abrasions on her neck. Instead, try a harness that fits around the front of the chest. It's safer and basically does the same thing to stop the dog from pulling. Keep him on a short leash walking next to you to calm him down. Don't allow him more leash length until he settles down and walks properly. You have a good amount of time to work with him, and should be able to make some progress, but it won't happen over night. Best of luck!

Start potty training over...

Whenever the dog is in the house and not crated put a body harness and leash on the dog, tie end of leash to your belt. Wherever you go the dog goes. When you see the dog start to signal (sniff/circle/scratch) that it's got to go than run the dog out to where you want it to go. Praise, reward (immediately) and use a command word consistently. When the dog shows it's learned to go outside consistently by dragging you to the outside than you can undo the leash from your belt. Keep the leash on the dog still and keep an eye on it whenever it is in the house and not crated so if it starts to make an accident you can grab the leash and run it outside. Once it is going outside with no attempted accidents for at least a week than you can take the leash off.

The most common mistake in potty training is giving the dog freedom to roam the house without supervision where the human doesn't see the dog signal it needs to go.

I'd say gently condition him out of those behaviors while he is with you. Establish a position as the Alpha female in your house, he only gets to do what you say when you say. it works. pretend to eat fro mhis bowl before you set it down for him, make it a point to make him wait for you before he gets to eat or play or go outside or anything, this establishes you as the boss basically. then you can train him not to potty inside and get all excited at innapropriate times. try not to spank as it only leads to fear behaviors instead of productive learning (that ones hard i know hehe) and try to make outside time very playful and positive, boredom often is the leading cause of the problems he's having. it takes time but it works i can assure you, though 30 days isnt long enough for lasting results, being consistent every time he visits your house will tell him how not to act around you. good luck have fun and most of all enjoy his company.

Easy. If you have a large backyard put him there. He will be happy to mark all day and you won't have to deal with scrubbing your house.

Don't worry it will be fine out there. My dogs live outside and they love it!

If its fairly cool outside you might want to put a pillow for it to sleep on. If its fairly hot make sure to put lots of water!
