Right now, I would bandage the wound! Use whatever you have if you don't have bandages, like a clean piece of cloth.
Then when that is all taken care of, take him to the Vet. That's the only way you will know if it is serious or not. They will clean it out and stitch it up if need be. Also they will instruct you on what you need to do with it.

Probably this needs a vet. That area can bleed a lot, and since it's always on the ground there's a good chance for infection. As well, if your dog decides to start licking it there's a chance he would never let it heal up.

Please, take her to the vet ASAP! Her paw could get infected and could become VERY bad! I know, it might sound origanal, but, it's TRUE! If the vet is closed, or your can get to the vet right away, get an eye dropper and fill it with distilled water. Squirt the injured paw, and then put a gauze bandage around the whole paw, and possibly around the leg, too. I wish you GOOD LUCk, and thanks,

you HAVE to go to the vet. if it did that much damage to the paw there is a good chance that there is a broken bone in there as well. plus there is a huge risk of infection, which could be deadly or cause for amputation if left unattended.

vet. go. now.

1.) wash the wound with warm soapy water
2.) get antiseptic if it's not bleeding and rinse the area
3.) get a sewing kit, sterilize the needle using alcohol (Jack Daniels works), or heat
4.) pick the color of thread that goes nicely with your dog and stitch up the wound
5.) wrap with a bandage
6.) take it to the vet

or you could skip setps 3 and 4 - whatever floats your boat and your wallet - JESUS - get off the computer and get to a vet.

My dogs knows my sons name. I ask her to find Oskar and she runs to him. It's probably because he's only a toddler and I'm constantly saying his name, and were at home most of the day so she's hearing me call his name a lot :)

I would take your dog to the vet if it's bleeding or if it looks like it's hurting your dog. If not, try to get those cloth bandages that you would wrap your hand, or ankle in, and wrap it around your dogs paw and lower leg.
