What this man did is morally wrong. I am not going to judge his situation, that task is for people wiser than I am.

However the Catholic Church:
+ Has always been filled with sinners
+ Is filled with sinners
+ Will always be filled with sinners until the second coming of Christ

If only perfect people were allowed to preach then no one would ever preach.

Even Peter, the first Pope, denied Christ three times.

With love in Christ.

I read the article and it didn't show his statements. I'm not a Catholic, but I wouldn't care what he said. Same old crap, blame the victim, not the criminals. Everything is upside down in this society and it stinks. Thank God there are a few sensible people left.

He's an old man being harassed by jack *** kids. The kids should have had their asses beat by somebody, but the priests are held to a higher standard and he was not the one to do it. Instead of yelling he should have ignored them, but he's human.
I think he should still be allowed to preach after a period of prayer and reflection.

Lifelong Catholic here: all of the above.

The man is not only a racist but a highly ignorant fool and should be kicked to the curb right away.

Bad news is, the pope used to be a Nazi and isn't too much higher on the racist-ladder than Herr Baron.

The miracle is that God works through the Chruch in spite of idiots.

See he was provoked.... anger gets to all of us.

I'd be more worried about the priests who say racist/prejudice stuff all the time and are happy when they spout it....

Wish I had had a tape recorder when I was in *his* classroom.... could of gotten it on tape....Grr.

I'm totally scandalized, he reacted like a human being....Nobody's perfect. If this is the worst thing anyone has done then I would not be too concerned.

He has contrition for what he said, we must be forgiving as none of us are blameless
