I was going to cite the first responder's tale, which is also one of my favorites. Another tale:
Female dinner guest, to WSC: "If I were your wife, I'd put poison in your coffee."

I love the story about the dinner attended by Sir Winston who was seated next to Bessie Braddock a Labour Member of Parliament from Liverpool who had a face akin to a bag of spanners.

Winston was a little the worse for wear due to the large amount of brandy he had consumed.

"Winston." She snapped, "You're drunk."

"Yes Madam," Replied the Great Man, "And you're ugly.........But tomorrow I shall be sober!"
