I purchased a new truck in virginia which has a virginia inspection sticker and 30 day plates. When my nc plates come in the mail do I have to get a nc inspection when I put the tag on or is the virginia sticker good until it expires one year later?

you need a NC sticker obviously...the car won't be registered in VA anymore, will it?

Many States have an inspection that is not a safety inspection but, for checking VIN numbers to make sure it isn't stolen. They probably won't accept a safety inspection from another State either since theirs may have more to check. Money also comes into play.

Yes, you will need a "native" inspection sticker - they don't carry over from state to state.
