Pus is a sign on infection. you should get some meds for that! Possibly just Neosporin could help. Hope it gets better!

No, the pus indicates that your lip piercing is infected. Hopefully you had it professionally pierced so you don't have to worry about Hepatitis C or HIV, but seek medical help. I work as a surgical nurse and have amputated numerous bodyparts due to infection after piercing because they were not treated & spread to the surounding tissues. It's also a possibility that an infection from a facial piercing could cause permanent nerve damage if left untreated. Go to the Doctor.

Remove the puss often with water and clean afterwards with whatever you were given to clean your lip with when you were pierced, this will usually be a small clear solution that comes in a plastic bottle. Mine was called "metal morphisis".
Be extremely careful with this, in some cases it is totally normal, but it can also mean infection.
Infection on the face is unattractive... and dangerous! BUT always preventable even at the pussing stage if you just take extra care of your lip, keep it very clean, and keep a close eye on the amount of pussing.
If it continues to puss more and more and this is a fresh piercing, I recommend you see your piercer - if they have no useful advice for you - then to your doctor.
If you were given no solution to cleanse with [WHICH YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN!] then salted water will do the job.

yes, secretion of a fluid which contains blood plasma, lymph and dead cells is perfectly normal. It is fairly liquid, whitish-yellow in color and forms a crust on the jewelry at the openings of the piercing. This is not pus, but indicates a healing piercing.
Once healed your piercing may secrete a semi-solid white malodorous substance from the oil glands called sebum. This is not pus, but, too, indicates a healed piercing.
I have seven ear piercings and all of them had pus. They healed fine. IT IS NOT ALWAYS A SIGN OF INFECTION. Piercings secrete pus when trying to heal. after an enormous amount of time....you still see pus, go to see a doctor.

Is it pus or searosanguinous fluid? If the first, go to your PIERCER not the doctor. If your piercer says go to the doctor, then go. If the latter, then it is absolutely fine. Pus is opaque with a yellowish tint whereas searosanguinous fluid is quite clear, sometimes vaguely opaque white.

a little bit for a few days. Then a little after little bit of crust is normal. If your lip gets real red or purple, take it out. Keep rinsing you mouth after food, drink, or smoke(if you smoke) and it should start acting normal in a couple days.
