I don't feel the need to do that.I find my spirituality in nature.I was raised Roman Catholic, and found mass actually distracted me from finding peace and solace in The Greater Power, what with the gossiping ladies sitting next to me and the priest asking for more money, etc.

You shouldn't!

Once you've got the meaning you don't need the words.

You don;t have to go to church to find spirituality, I am not very religious but i do believe that you can praise God anywhere at any time. I was brought up to think that God loves you for the person you are and not how much you put in the collection tin each week.

My husband is Greek orthodox and only goes to church on Holy Days, I go with him but get annoyed at the amount of hypocrisy, people only go as it's expected of them, most of the people are outside smoking and some even turn up drunk, that is not religion.

Dont feel bad. your not wrong.

Jesus stated that that "not everyone calling on him would be saved".
He also stated that many will say in the last days" look there is the christ ! and look there is the christ!" (churches)
and he said also that there are many roads leading into destruction but only one road into life.(organized religion)

his point. That in the last days many will come on the basis of his name. (organized religion,)
but he goes on further saying . do not believe them.
WOW we have Jesus` own recommendation here to be careful who you follow that say they are his followers.
We have over 2000 so called christian denomination in the world today which were originated through splits in beliefs and creating new churches based on new ideas from previous ones.
My belief? If a church has ever split or started there own version from a previous one, something is wrong their.
God has always had an organized group of people throughout history,he is a god of order.I believe there is only one group
being inspired by God today Jesus said you would know "them" by there actions.
If you might find this so hard to believe that god has a small number of people he is with consider the flood of Noahs time.
A whole world of people were warned 4, 5 6 billion people perhaps, how many of those people in that time thought they had Gods approval? but yet how many survived. Is it any different today?
Peace

The Bible advises us to not forsake the gathering of ourselves together. As a Catholic, I'm not sure I understand your statements about the Mass distracting you from God. To me, personally, it is a great privilege to be able to go to church and receive the Holy Eucharist. What other people do in church is not my concern, and if somebody is gossiping there, that's their problem, and in no way excuses me from my own obligation to worship God and receive Communion. However, going to church is only a small portion of one's religious duties. There is a life to be lived in between church services, and what happens there is of great importance. Going to church once a week doesn't count for much if we don't practice the love of Christ when we're not in church.

At my church, I find others who are pursuing Jesus just as I am. I find relevant preaching that helps me grow in my faith in ways I could not do by myself. There are distractions from time to time, but often I learn better to deal with others by working through the distractions.

I was Catholic for awhile and did not come away with anything after the mass. Not saying that's universally true with that religion, but religion does not often bring you closer to God. My church teaches how to have a relationship and I consider that vitally important.

Sorry be blunt from what you've said you have never been to church yet. You've been attending a man made religion.

Why not try a church which actually believes and follows God's Word, the Bible for a change?

If your church isn't as exciting as DisneyWorld and as relavant as a lively debate on a college campus, you are attending the wrong church.

no one is making you go to church,
if you don't want to go then don't,the priests don't ask you for more money the collection bags are put around and if you want to give then give if not then don't.as the priest said at mass on Sunday if you can't afford to put money in box so what as long as you go to mass is better, you have your own free will do as you feel you should do.you make it sound as if its a chore,
and the world is on your shoulders. so come on and cheer up.

There's no need to go to church to find God because He is within us and all around us. You are right when you say church distracts us from spirituality. We can find all the peace we need in Nature.

I am opposed to religion in general, but mostly organized religion, so if you can leave that behind, find more of your own conclusions, and your own personal belief instead of being forced to think in an exact certain way.

Because your religion needs your money to keep up the brainwashing program. nothing sells like sex and the absolving of sin. Buying members of congress isn't cheap, you know.
