if you don't believe me, i can prove to you that it does quite easily; watch a clip of a lion ripping a zebra to shreds on the discvery channel, then imagine you're the zebra.

"Oh please. The zebra died so the lion could have a meal and then when the lion dies the grass uses it's corpse to grow and the zebra's children ea the grass. It's called the circle of life. "
that's very easy for you to say, sitting in your comfy living room, but if you were that zebra at the moment you were being eaten you might have a different opinion.

It is under a curse, and has been since the Fall of Adam. However God has promised to redeem the earth through the work of Christ, just as He now redeems individual souls who put their trust in Him.
"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies."
Romans 8:18-23
Here is his promise of a Coming Age of Peace:
" The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together;
and a little child will lead them.
The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.
They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.
In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious."
Isaiah 11:6-10
I hope you put your trust in Jesus.
You wouldn't want to miss what's coming up.

Maybe to pessimists. Try being an optimist sometime. It will give you a whole new outlook on life.
Think how happy the lion must be to feed himself - likely many other animals will feed off the carcass and enjoy another day of life because one zebra died.

Evolution by natural selection of the fittest sucks. But it lead to us, and now that we are aware of its necessary cruelty, we can try to do better (empathically speaking) if we can leave aside the murderous delusions imposed by the once useful religious thinking. We are the universe being conscious of itself. It would be a shame to let go to waste such an improbable opportunity.

Nature is red in tooth and claw. People who talk about nature being harmonious don't understand that nature 'wants' everyone and everything dead under the extension of the rule 'nature abhors a vacuum'.
