have your parents take you to garage sales sometimes you can find pretty neat stuff and unusual stuff at those . You know like different pictures to put on the walls and stuff . just try that for now and try to go with a theme . good luck .

Hello,
Do you have a headboard for your bed? I have a great new product you will just love. They are called Wall Huggers and they are modular chic panels that you hang over your bed instead of a headboard. You can choose any fabric and colour that makes you happy. I would think because you are 13 you want something hip and stylish. Go to my website www.wallhuggers.ca and have a look at my design gallery.
My panels are very economical and a great way to dress up an otherwise boring bedroom.
Also, don't forget to start with something you love maybe a bedspread or picture and choose your colours from there.
Good luck with.

Paint will make a major difference and it is relatively cheap.

Find a piece of clothing you really like and use it as a color pallet. Paint walls and trim the same colors as the clothing.

Another way to pick a good color pallet is from decorating magazines. Browse until you find a room you like then pick colors out of it.

You can paint furniture too.

begin with the easiest and least expensive change..wall color...go with them to pick paint and get wonderful colors, two is best for contrast, and expression. my daughter, who is 14 picked apple green and a dark purply pink.
we hung some neat outdoor style lights for the local big lots so they were cheap and that made it look [my word] festive.
she had some posters, so we framed them using poster frames from the drug store and they changed the look too. we got some new sheets at big lots too that went with the colors of her walls and trim and it looks so nice now. and, its all her, her favorite colors, her fave posters etc.

my daughter just did her room over the summer, she did the walls blue (ceiling darker blue) and then got a ton of the glow int he dark stars and planets and stuff. she put those all over her walls and ceiling. it looks really cool at night.

and the pictures on her wall of dolphins still looks cool cause of the blue on the walls.

you could paint your room the colors of your bed set... paint each wall a different color. devote one wall to pictures...
