I would let you baby sit while I did chores around the house at first (mow the yard, deep cleaning) so you could get to know my child and her needs. Then maybe you could start watching her alone for short periods of time, but I'd probably have an adult friend on call for emergencies nearby (just in case).

I would have to know you before I made that decision. I wouldn't automatically not hire you because of your age, but I do know some 13 year olds who I would not leave my kids with and I know a lot of adults 18 and older who I wouldn't leave them with either. So for me it would be based more on the person than on their age. The babysitting class and the CPR certification are definite pluses in your favor.

You know thats great that you are talking babysitting seriously and you obviously have experience thats great. These days now babysitters do things that you wouldnt want done to your child...It depends on the age of your child but your age is really young. Maybe if it was like for close family. Im expecting a child next month. Sure my family is going to help me, but i CANT always depend on them.. I dont really trust day care centers too much either....Ive been looking into interviewing babysitters but I have to say for a newborn or really any child up to 5 I dont think I would leave a 13yr old to them. I mean its great that you have that background but your age is kind of a down fall. I wouldnt give up though, Im sure there are parents out there who wouldnt mind. I wish you luck!

If you want cheap then it doesn't matter. If you want a good quality baby sitter that is certified in CPR and First Aid, you need to find one in their twenties at least. Remember you get what you pay for.
Also, age isn't everything. I was babysitting for people at 18 and I was highly trained and qualified but I didn't except minimum wage either.
I hope you find a good one.

I am not a parent but I watch over my younger cousins and I think that your attitude and personality matters most when you are babysitting. And I think that age 13 is fine as long as you feel that you are ready and are up to the challenge.

No I am sorry I wouldn't trust you, because to be honest you are too young to handle things by yourself, but I would absolutely hire someone in their 20's!
Wait until you are older!! =)
