He was, indeed a Shawnee prophet. You asked what a Shawnee prophet is...I don't know how to explain it any more simply then to say that he was a Shawnee Indian who was also regarded as a prophet by some of his people. He taught that whites were the spawn of the Great Serpent, and also felt that his own people should live communally and reject certain aspects of white culture, particularly the consumption of alcohol. He said that if people followed his leadership, their dead relatives would be brought back to life. He later helped relocate other Shawnees to Kansas. He died in Kansas City in 1836.
