Worry about global warming? Check out Al Gore’s private jet statistics. His Jet is putting emissions directly into the upper troposphere. When injected together into the icy atmosphere, the mix of exhaust gases - including water vapor, unburned hydrocarbons, particulates, sulfates, nitrogen oxides (NOX), and carbon dioxide, not to mention Al Gore’s own WASTE - produces clouds and has two to three times the warming effect of carbon dioxide alone and you can check me on this.
Look if you are really concerned on the Global warming effect, then stop all your efforts and go NUCLEAR. The cleanest source of energy there is. So you are afraid of this? What if it melts down? Well, 50,000 people will die alright. But when was the last time this happened? (Trust me some of you were not alive when I saw it in Russia) – by the time you finish reading this, thousands of people would have died today thanks to CO2, not NUCLEAR disasters.
Way to go Al Gore!! You keep flying those planes!!

➔ Global Warming
The Earth has had ice ages, they were cooling periods, between them were warming periods. This has been going on for all of Earth’s 4 + - billion years. This all happened before any of the modern day technology came into being and will continue after we are gone.
The Earth is going through a pole shift right now. A pole shift is when the magnetic poles swap polarities. During pole shifts the magnetosphere is weaker and more of the Sun’s rays strike the Earth, this causes extra heating of the Earths surface, and makes global warming more pronounced.
These are natural cycles of the Earth. We puny stupid humans can no more stop or even reduce a natural cycle of the Earth, than the man in the moon. This is 9th grade science, and one would think that scientists and politicians would be better educated, but it seems that this not so, and they could remember 9th grade science class too.
This may just may be another smoke and mirrors propaganda campaign to cover our governments lies and con games. There are so many conspiracies running rampant it’s hard to tell which are real and which are just simple stupidity. The idea we can stop global warming IS stupidity at it’s highest form.

The nuclear industry probably has a worse record than it deserves and in countries that have stringent safety procedures the safety record is an excellent one. Had Cehrnobyl had the same rules in place as govern an American or European plant then the disaster would not have happened.
Although it's not an ideal solution it is, I beleive, preferable to the burning of fossil fuels - a) because of the environmental implications and b) because fossil fuels are finite and the more we can preserve them the better.
On the down side, the nuclear industry has proved to be incredibly expensive and here in the UK a programme to decomission the power stations, some of which are 50 years old, has begun recently at an incredible cost - equivalent to $1000 for every person for each plant being decomissioned (for a family with 2 kids the equivalent cost to decomission 20 plants is $80,000, and this from an industry that promised electricity so cheap that it would be given away for free).
The nuclear industry has undoubtedly progressed over the years and learned lessons the hard way. With today's technology we can deliver cheaper and more reliable electricity supplies than in the past but it's really only the lesser of two evils.
Perhaps some time in the future, not soon, we'll have developed renewables to the extend that they're a viable alternative to nuclear and fossil fuel powered energy generation. Until such time, nuclear does appear to be the best option.

Nobody with a serious interest in the environment cares anything about Al Gore. He was brought into the mix by people like Carl Rowe to serve as a lightning rod for opposition to environmentalists so that Bush's anti-science agenda could be advanced.
The environment is not a partisan issue, or a liberal versus conservative issue. It is everyone's responsibility. Shirking just increases the burden your neighbor has to bear. Active opposition is on the same level as vandalism or arson.

You forget that only OTHER people should change the way they live to cure global warming. People who really care need to pollute as much as they do because they are better than other people. They are called Gulfstream Liberals.
Yes, nuclear power is a good solution since over 50% of all ghg's are produced by power generation. But if we have nuclear power, then how can these elete liberals make us feel guilty enough to vote for them?
Like all political problems, the issue is not to actually SOLVE the problem, but to keep it running in perpetutity so they can justify slowly taking more and more of your freedoms away.

Why worry about Al Gore? His behavior is completely irrelevant to the scientific facts that prove global warming is mostly man made. The behavior of a spokesperson is not proof or disproof of the truth of an issue.
You are right that we need nuclear power as one tool (along with solar, wind, biofuels, and, most important of all, conservation) to help fight global warming. Most environmentalists agree that global warming is the bigger threat.
We know how to bury the waste safely. It's just a political problem to designate a site. This technology is working just fine:

I don't care about Al Gore.
Nuclear is not the cleanest source of energy there is. The uranium has to be mined and transported, and the radioactive waste has to be stored somewhere. All renewable energy sources (solar, wind, goethermal, wave, etc.) are cleaner than nuclear. We should expand our use of nuclear energy to some degree, but certainly not rely too heavily on it.

We've been lucky so far with nuclear. And we STILL don't have a reasonable means of disposing of the radioactive waste products safely for the next 90 million years. Until we can solve the waste problem, nuclear will continue to be a side issue. Besides, we have a perfectly servicable fusion plant a mere 93 million miles away. Why not use THAT?

Everyone is guilty of polluting the earth.
You shouldn't even be asking this question because you are guilty too. You drive right? You use electricity, water, and other resources right? Everything we do no matter how big or small affects this planet.
I understand your point, but you don't really have room to criticize.
