He is 24 years old and very healthy. Earlier today he started acting weird and walked away from the living room into a dark room and held his head, then when we got worried he got angry and said he wants space.

Now he's telling us that he barely remembers what happened. He says he walked into a room to find something, and then got dizzy and started feeling really weird. He said things became really difficult and he had to really think hard and concentrate hard for simple things and he was getting confuse. He says he is forgetting things and barely remembers the incident where he got angry. Now he's insisting we leave him alone and let him sleep, but he is still really weird I can see it. He is not as assertive as he normally is and kinda just lay there and waited for us to leave...

Please help. Is there any danger? What could it be? Is there any cause for concern? Could it be possible that he got a concussion or something? I have no idea and am really worried. Please help...

Is it possible that it's something more serious? What could it be?

Thank you!

He doesn't use drugs or anything like that and leads a healthy life, so this is really weird

there are any number of things which could be causing this behavior in your brother, at his age, my first suspicion would be drug abuse. If his pupils are equal and react to light the same, then he has no neurological problems, if his pupils are tiny he's been taking something, and if his pupils are huge, he should be seen by a doctor.

One thing that causes dizziness and difficulty thinking and concentrating is dehydration.
He may need re-hydration tablets and to make sure that he drinks 3 litres of water per day.

He may have a response to some food that expresses itself like this. Too much sugar. Pre-diabetes.

I hope he will go for a complete physical exam and get a blood profile.

Are you 100% sure that he is not using drugs? I have known people who used drugs that I NEVER would have guessed. Some of the things he said, the way he acted, are typical addict behavior - the anger, and him saying he wanted his space... Plus the wanting to sleep; all are very typical symptoms of meth use. If it was a legitimate medical problem, it seems like he would be a little concerned, or at least not so tempermental. I hope this isn't too upsetting, it's just my honest opinion.

When I was 8, on Easter morning, I fell out of my chair from a dizzy spell, that the doctors just said it is growing pains; what a crock of "bleep". Anytime you get dizzy or lose consciousness, it is generally from lack of blood flow in the brain. Memory loss is nueron pathways swelling, and not allowing the thoughts to travel through the brain.
I would suggest he watch his diet and avoid high fatty foods and eat lots of fiber

Does he eat healthy and cut down on salt. Have him test his blood pressure and while he is at it, test for sugar. He can be dehydrated as someone said before but this could lower his blood pressure. Even eating well and eating too well and cutting sodium out your diet can cause this. If it is low then he needs to drink alot of water and add some sodium to his diet. People who eat healthy have lower blood pressure levels but if it drops lower then symtoms such as dizziness, headaches and feeling lightheaded can occur.

My first inclination is drugs. I cannot think of any reason a person should be agitated when someone shows concern for them. But if this persist and he should continue to have spells I would take him in to the hospital any way. Better to be safe than sorry. This way if it is drugs you will know that too.

You and your parents need to get him help right away. It could be something as simple as stress but get him to a doctor as soon as possible to make sure it's nothing more serious.

it almost sounds as if he's having seizures(petit seizures, not the full blown ones) My cousin, who is also very healthy, athletic, young has just been recently diagnosed with them. And her symptoms sound just like what you're describing your brothers to be. If he hasn't gone to the Dr yet, he should go, they now have many medications to help prevent seizures.

It sounds like hes might have taken a bad fall on his head and can't remember if he did. I don't want to be funny, but he also sounds like hes drunk.
