Read the article that I'm putting in my sources.
It makes me upset with the bishops, some of them are not handling this very well. I'm blessed with a wonderful bishop who is trying to help the victims and move on.
You have to remember that all of these abuses have been taking place since like 1980. There are more abuses in Protestant churches, schools, and maybe even homes in a year than there are in the Church within these past 25.
Its a horrible act, and we have to remember to pray for the victims and forgive the abuses.

No.
In every population of human beings are going to a few sick or evil people who commit horrible crimes, even in the Church.
These few terrible people do not negate the faith, hope and love of over one billion Catholics.
Remember that the Church is not the Church hierarchy or the priests. The Church is God and His relationship with over one billion living Catholics on Earth and God only knows how many in heaven, all of whom make up the Body of Christ.
Also remember that political scandals in nations, even up to and including the highest leaders, like President Nixon and the Watergate scandal, do not make the nation as a whole wrong, immoral, or worthless. And the Catholic Church is so much holier and more important than any nation.
With love in Christ.

I think the Great Gazoo is nearest the truth. The priesthood can attract some people who know they have a tendency but sincerely want to deal with it in a spiritual way. Some are just not able to deal with it. And all those who said it it a problem across the board are right. Lay off the Catholic priest-bashing. Jokes about the subject are infantile and repulsive.

The Church itself is the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth - with Jesus Christ as it's High Priest and King.
Those who populate the Church on earth are fallible - even clergymen. In spite of this fact, the Church as a whole is still Supernatural and thus infallible.
Therefore, NO. The clergy sex scandals has not negatively influenced my feelings concerning the Church.

No not one bit. Same as it doesn't change my mind about people in general. There are more people that molest than there has been priests that have. People in general make mistakes, and hurt people. Forgive, and educate and protect. It's all anyone can do.

No, I always new they were demonic. I am sure that all religions have there an example of a molester in the mix. But there is something wrong that there are so many in the Catholic church. Undeniable.
