I am not a male, BUT I can say that the males in MY family, my grandfather, uncles, father, brother, son and husband ALL treat woman with respect and honor according to the scipture. To love your wife as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for it. What a blessing indeed.
Outside of Christianity, it's just common sense... a happy woman/wife, makes for a happy husband and home.

Speaking generally, be true to yourself. You don't need to be a Christian to treat a woman, or any person for that matter, with proper respect and honor.
Don't debase her, don't treat her like she's an invalid or a child, and most of all, do ask for her opinion and ideas.
A woman can sense when a man is trying too hard to please. Don't do that.

My husband is the best. Treats me with respect, listens to my opinions, asks my advice, takes my thoughts into consideration, and treats me as the equal that I am. He takes responsibility as a father to his children, and treats the other women in my family with the same respect he shows me.
I suspect he fears for his life otherwise :)
Oh and he does the dishes and his own laundry.

By treating them as I would want to be treated. No name calling, no talking bad about them in public, no sexual affection outside of the "marriage bedroom"; requiring that others including children respect her as well.
Having said that, the pendulm has swung to the other extreme where many men are sacrificing their masculinity for the sake of peace. Many guys are becoming "nice" so they don't rock the boat in their marriages and relationships when it needs to be. Jesus was not "nice" He was "good" and that's how we are to be. We need to return to being more proactive as men and leading even when others including the ladies may not approve of our actions!

the bible tells us to love our wives as Christ loved the church. Jesus allowed Himself to be tortured to death for the benefit of the church. i've always been a gentleman because that's the way i was taught growing up. now that i'm christian, i haven't changed so much, except i keep in mind that the way a woman treats me isn't my business; my business is the way i treat her. if every decision i make is made in order to benefit her, rather than myself, how is that being disrespectful or dishonorable?

As Christ is the head of the body, the husband is the spiritual head of the household. That doesn't mean he has dominion over his wife, but rather it means the husband should serve his wife as Christ served his followers...we're here to serve one another. Not force our beliefs.

My wife usually lets me know when I've crossed the line.
But other than that.......I do know the proper way to treat a woman.......with respect & class......because they deserve it.

When you treat her like a *person* with feelings and a desire for happiness like your own, rather than simply a means for your own happiness.

My husband is a perfect gemtleman. His love for me has shown me what Christ's love is like. He treats me like I am precious, beautiful and intelligent.
He also gave me a RC plane for my birthday. That's true love! I love it!

Yes, but I do have these feeling, which I try to supress, but I still have them and I can't help having them.
My NATURE is to be fruitful and multiply and their nature is to stimulate my nature. I can be a gentleman, but I also can't stop my nature totally and completely. If that bothers a woman, tough!
If EVERY MAN ignored every women we'd have no babies!
