The institute is a great place to learn more about the Church's beliefs, and there is a great breadth of subject matter available.
I once took an institute on LDS Early Church History (although not in Ogden), and it was incredibly informative. In fact, it served as one of the catalysts for my research of the LDS faith. I would highly recommend a similar class.
I think that it only costs like 10 or 20 bucks for a semester-long class, and if you ever transfer to a church-owned university, many of those classes will count as elective credit.
That being said, there are generally one or two courses available for each of the standard works (OT, NT, BoM, D&C, PoGP), then sometimes a class for the teachings of each of the Latter-day prophets, plus subject-matter courses (mission prep, marriage prep, the temple, dealing with marriage issues, the atonement of Christ, overcoming same-sex attraction, the priesthood, etc).
In Ogden, I believe the institute is located right next to Weber State University. Many of the classes are lined up with the class schedule at Weber State to make it easier for students. If you go to the institute, you can speak with a volunteer advisor who can give you some information on each of the classes so that you can choose the right one for you.

The Institute is located near the Weber State Campus. There are many classes offered there, about the LDS faith. Some are classing about the various parts of the scriptures, some deal with church history.
The LDS Institute program is geared toward LDS adults ages 18-30, the bulk of the program is for singles. There is also a program for the Married students in that age group as well. I think a previous poster gave you a link with more information.
You don't have to be LDS to participate in Institute, as long as you remember that LDS Values are expected at the activities and LDS doctrine is taught in the classes.
Similar programs are found all over the US and other parts of the world, according to the local needs.
I have taken several institute classes, from the Logan institute as well as the Boise Institute. I enjoyed all of the classes. The last one I took, was Women in the Scriptures, I really liked that one. I believe it is offered at all institutes. There is one offered at the Ogden Institute called religions of the World. I started to take that one, but then my schedule changed and I did not take the whole thing. That was years ago, but I am sure it is still offered.

There is an LDS Institute at most of the universities and colleges in America. They offer religion classes to college students to give them balance in life so as not to be overwhelmed with the learning and philosophies of men. They are a great place to hang out and socialize with other college students that are of a like mind. My Bishop is also the Institute Director for the UC Davis campus and the students love going to classes there and socializing with the other students that come for the same purpose.
Weber State in Ogden will have a large Institute Building for the Weber State students. They offer a full range of gospel classes.

LDS Institutes of religion are college level religion courses taught in on or off campus buildings often referred to as the "institute."
If your familiar with release-time seminary in Utah high schools this is the same thing for college.
Some classes are on:
New testament
Old Testament
Church History
D&C
Pearl of Great Price
Book Of Mormon
ETC.

These are college (BYU based) religion courses taught at almost all of our churches worldwide. I'm in Texas and take the offered course when it sounds interesting.
My favorite I've taken was called Religions of the World. We had an excellent instructor who brought in leaders of all the faiths in our area to inform us of what the doctrines were of their respective faiths. We were only allowed to ask questions about what they believed, but not to question their beliefs. I hope that makes sense.
Love Yahoo...not just for YSA's...I took one 2 years ago and I was 37 at the time...single yes...young NO.

Institutes are not only in Odgen, they are in many places in the country and world - wherever the church is.
These classes are for young single adults ages 18-30 and most of the students are college students also. They teach you about the Book of Mormon and Doctrines and Covenants, they also teach you about the church history and give you lessons about different things. it's very interesting. I can't wait to start institute, it's far from home, i can't drive and I'm still hoping to find someone who could give me a ride or something :( .............. no luck

Mormons aren't polygamists any more so cut the crap fredremo. Institute is where we go to learn teachings of leaders of the church and study the bible and book of mormon. Institute is usually college level classes that cover the teachings of christ as well as an in depth study of the Bible and Book of Mormon.

Not LDS, but...
It is at Weber State University. There is also one at the University of Utah. They are places to study mormonism. I don't know if you major in it, or go there in between your regular classes, the way public school students go to seminary during school days in Utah.
