I would have to pick the YF-23 Blackwidow II, because that thing looks way cooler than the F-22. I've seen it at the Air Force Muesem in their restoration area, and it was awesome. That would be my primary fighter with good air-to-air capabilities. The second would have to be the future FB-22 so that I could have a longer range strike fighter for deep missions into enemy terriroty. You give me about five squadrons of each and I would have a lethal little Air Force there.

With unlimited fuel and munitions? A10 Thunderbolt (Warthog) and the ever popular, success proven, ultimate in military aircraft, the B52. The B52 is the oldest still operational aircraft there is. My Dad was a 52 gunner for 20 years, never changed squadrons, and its a helluva plane.

An F-22 raptor which will match up against anything in the air today and an A-10 Warthog. Its ugly and slow but carries enough firepower to wipe out a small country.

I would not have but two - no two aircraft can possibly serve the wide variety of needs an effective armed force has.

An AC-130--anyone who has seen the "death circle" of the AC-130 knows nothing escapes destruction when it fires downward.
A-10--I grew up with these flying overhead. It is a damn shame we don't use them like we use to!
