I am invited to my friend, Satan's house for dinner. He wouldn't tell me what was on the menu. He said it was from his homeland.

Given this meal, either white or red will work. Chicken parm is bold enough to withstand a red, but won't ruin a white. Personally, I think red goes better with Italian foods. But that's me. If you're going with a red, I'd suggest a Merlot and maybe a Cabernet. I think Shiraz might be too "spicy." Chianti is a more traditional Italian choice, but (forgive me!) I find it a bit trite and cheap. This is just my opinion. If you want the (ah hem!) expert opinions, there are several wine/food pairing guides on the internet.

I have come to the conclusion to only bring cheep wine to friends houses--we always drink so much wine it doesn't matter...and then I don't feel like my friends are Devils for drinking all my good wine

Ask the shop owner to recommend something nice. I would imagine a nice red. Satan will definitely be serving flesh.

Something simple like a blackberry merlot is always good, because its something everyone likes. Its sweet, but not too sweet that it will upset your stomach.
