I know it might be stupid and it might not make sense..but maybe that's their little way of feeling better about eating unhealthy. Maybe they think to themselves "Well, If I'm going to eat a Big Mac, I'll get a diet coke so i'm still doing something good." I don't know... If I'm going to eat a greasy burger with 1000 calories I might as well drink a good-tasting pop with 300 calories...it all adds up the same way for me. But some people have their own motives.

There's a couple of answers to your questions:
1. The person may be a diabetic, and diet sodas have no sugar no calories, so that would help a lot when it comes to fructose or sugar level test.
2. Eating Mcdonalds is really unhealthy, but we're just humans who crave for hamburgers and fries sometimes. People would order a meal at Mc Donalds with an average of 800 calories and cut back on REGULAR sodas which is approximately 200 to 300 calories (depending on the size). Take note: DIET sodas have no calories and sugar FREE.

I like the taste of Diet coke better than the regular coke, so i order that when i eat at restaurants, but my first choice is always Water or Iced coffee's or Iced tea's. But if i had to choose 1 of the soda's, diet coke is my first choice.
Not cuz im health concious but cuz i like the taste better.
Hope that has answered ur question a little.
PS: Mcdonalds is evil. :P I hardly ever eat these these days

LOL you are sooo corect with this one. However, there are some people that do enjoy the taist of diet soda over regular soda and just order it because that is what they like. But, if you are watching your weight and think that the diet soda is going to make a difference while eating that big mac... well just let them figgure out the results on their own lol.

LOL!
I know what you mean. They'll order the most fattening, artery clogging food there is and then drink a diet soda so it won't seem so bad. It makes no sense, but I see people do it all the time.

We are all so weight conscious now. We will order diet soda to offset our feelings about ordering junk foods. It seems to help relieve some of our guilt. Imagine if we didn't have any guilty feelings at all. We would be more over weight than we think we are now. Go Figure

i think whats wrong with them is that they want something like mcdonalds and then they order and feel guilty about it, so they get a diet coke... like you said though it doesn't make much sense.

I order diet coke because I think regular coke is too sweet. I do it because I think it tastes better.
