"Faith is the evidence of things not seen, the substance of things hoped for" - to quote the Hebrew 11:1
People are often more convinced by what they believe then what the see. A person who believes in God can see the evidence of him all around. A persson who does not believe can find excuses for not accepting any evidence presented. A person will never be convinced by facts to give up their faith. Because their faith will "color" the manner in which they view the facts. So God does not ask people to come to him by facts. He ask them to come by faith. He wants the hearts before the heads. If he gets the heart, the head comes along for free. If he gets the head, you could spend forever thinking about it and never act on it. So when you get the head, the heart does not always come with it.
Faith is also what gives substance to our hopes. If I am convinced, for example, that God will help me if I go to school and work for good grades, I am probably going to try harder and work more. My faith will help me to give substance to the "hopes" He gives me.

Baseless blind belief.
Religious faith is detrimental & totally without redeeming value. It is not a valid epistemological procedure & should not be regarded as a trustworthy method of ascertaining the truth value in any claim or concept. Faith allows for baseless dogmatic certainty in the absence of & sometimes in spite of justification & reason.
