i want to get my navel pierced but i dont know where to go
do they all ask for parents to be there if your under age

Since you're in NYC it will most likely be on the cheaper side and cost 20-30 dollars. Any GOOD piercing place will require your parents to be there. The law is for minors to have parental consent when getting pierced. If they're breaking this law, what other laws do you think they could be breaking (ie CLEANLINESS of the place. It might not meet health code standards).
Go to a place that requires parental permission and bring your parents. If your parents don't want you to get pierced then you'll just have to wait until youre 18. It's not the end of the world to have to wait a few years. There are still plenty of piercings I want that my parents won't let me get (mostly because of the cost) and I'm going to be 18 soon. Waiting hasn't been particularly hard and it has also caused me to rethink about some piercings I want. Now I know what NOT to get because I had awhile to think about how certain piercings would look on me and what piercings would require a great amount of effort to take care of.

they've really tightened up on checking id so if you're underage, you will need a parent and/or guardian present (at least at any reputable place). Don't go somewhere just because they won't id you... you want to make sure the place is sanitary. There's a place in Hawthorne, NJ called Pleasurable Piercings- its about a 40 minute drive over the bridge from Brooklyn. My belly ring piercing cost about $60 there. It is very clean and professional with a great selection but if you're underage bring an adult to sign for you. Good luck!!

It all depends where you go and you should be very careful..some are legit and others are not. Not all ask for parental consents. Prices range from 40. to 80.00. Do follow the instuctions on cleansing to avoid serious infections.

get it done in soho that's where i got my cartilage. they won't really ask for your parents they just want id or take an older friend with you someone over 17.
