You already KNOW that you're too skinny -- which is why you posted this in Mental Health, because you're conflicted with your own ideas...
You posted this, because you're looking for support.. I know, and many of these Best Answer whores will agree-away... but, this is exactly the conduct of hangers-on say, around Lindsay Lohan that lack the outright courage & truthfulness to straighten her out, wouldn't you agree?
While you feel healthy & normal -- your body actually is feeding off your muscle & fatty tissues (which you NEED) for its nutrition. Whether you know it or not, or want to see it or not.. being 83 lbs is more dangerous than you know. Internally, it stresses organs from your brain to your heart, and slow metabolism down -- so, the reality is you're NOT healthy. And you don't know it.
It's actually GOOD that people say you're skinny -- because at 83 lbs, you are... while it hurts, and it's unpopular (as name-calling is), having people around you that notice & comment actually can HELP you, as well as keep people from adverse & harmful actions. Societal norms aren't all bad, and when one affect YOU it can surely be an upsetting thing...

I'm glad you eat healthy and have a good body image.
You are "underweight" though. I hope you are seeing your doctor regularly, because even though you don't have an eating disorder, there still may be medical issues that you should be aware of. You may have to take extra precautions to make sure you stay healthy.

sweetie, every body is different. i however am 20 & pregnant. i'm as well short. i have only gained ten pounds and i'm 8 months. if your worried about stretch marks don't be you can put coco butter on them. however they help sometimes. at least for me. and if you take care of yourself, it will be easy for you to loose the weight after you have the baby. **** meaning don't let pregnancy give you an excuse to lay around and eat, with no excersise. hope this helped &&& congratulations. :)

you could just be naturally skinny but if you are skinny for all the wrong reasons, bulemia and anorexia, seek help. It's dangerous and there's no point in being "beautiful" if you're going to die young. But if you've already seen a doctor and he's said you're a healthy weight... go with it.

I guess it depends on what type of skinny you are. If your the skin and bones type of skinny or the toned type of skinny. Or thats just how you are, small. My girl friend is the same height as you and she is 17 and weighs 95lbs.
